An engagement is exciting, but there are time it conjures up some difficult emotions. Family, friends, exes,…. and teammates?

Yes, apparently Anthony Rizzo struggled in a glass case of emotion with the news, as his bromance was over.

Jessica Delp just celebrated her bridal shower at Wrigley with other Cubs wives and girlfriends. Seriously, how cool is that? I just asked my wife about bridal showers. “The worst. You have to pretend to be excited that someone got kitchen utensils. There is nothing I’d less rather do.” But when I posed to her the idea of a a shower at Fenway or Wrigley. “OK. I’m in. Still would suck.” Long story short. Being engaged to the one of the best players in the National League has it’s perks.

Beyond cool bridal showers, Kris Bryant’s girlfriend certainly appears to be enjoying his rocket ascension to stardom. But, despite everything, they’ve done a great job trying to maintain normalcy in an abnormal situation. We’re mostly talking your standard well-balanced relationship activities like going to the zoo, going on hikes in Arizona, and going to Disneyland. The two live in Arizona and are fans of both the Suns and the Coyotes.

Kris Bryant’s girlfriend seems like a really cool girl. She consistently supports Kris and the Cubs and is genuinely excited and motivated by their success. For their sake, we’ll hope it continues deep into October.

Jason Heyward’s girlfriend Grace Heller just met him recently. In early May, it looked like she was dating him. I still had doubts because there was no social media confirmation. That all changed in late May when she posted a picture of her sidled up to Mr. Heyward. I had my doubts because I thought it was just a “fan picture,” but if all my fans looked like her, I’d go after each and every one of them! Such was the case with Jason and Grace.

I am writing this in late September, so they have been together for about four or five months(assuming their Twitter beginning was their actual beginning). Jason Heyward’s girlfriend Grace posted another picture of them together at Wrigley Field on September 16. She looked really nice too. Things are progressing smoothly. She is the kind of girl who loves animals and posts memes to raise awareness about their mistreatment around the world. This gets a little monotonous because it has no real effect. Posting a picture of a lion with statistics about their dwindling population and telling people to retweet the picture does literally nothing. There, I said it. Travel to Africa with Jason and have him throw a baseball at a hunter! That will have some effect! I’m kidding, mostly. An interesting post of hers: “You’re defined by what you actually do. Not what you say you can do.”

Jason Heyward’s girlfriend Grace owns a handsome Black Labrador (one of my favorite breeds). Her sister also became a mother recently. Thus, Grace became an Aunt. She describes her nephew as her “favorite little man.” In a few years, if Jason keeps up the good behavior, she will have her own little man. Grace’s brother committed to attending Harvard University October of 2014. That makes her brother a sophomore now. She’s a little older than he is. She also has another brother who is the youngest in her family.

Aroldis Chapman’s Girlfriend Cristina Barnea once called 911 on him. On October 30, 2015, police were called to Chapman’s home for a domestic disturbance call. Christina and Aroldis were engaged in a heated argument that took an alleged violent turn. The argument started when Cristina asked Aroldis about another woman’s photo on his phone. The argument allegedly turned into shoving and choking and ended with Aroldis firing his gun into a pile of trash in his garage. In all, Chapman fired his gun eight times. The entire incident took place with two young children in the house.

Reports of the incident did not initially provide the victim’s name. It has since become clear that the victim was Aroldis Chapman’s Girlfriend Cristina Barnea. As is very common in domestic violence cases, the attorney general was unable to press charges. Chapman admitted to firing the gun, but nothing else. Cristina’s brother Dany Barnea refused to provide a statement to police. He gave the police Cristina’s number, but she also refused to give an additional statement.

Consequently the investigation concluded that,

Due to conflicting stories, lack of cooperation by the victim and witnesses, no physical injuries, and the fact that Mr. Chapman fired his gun in a closed garage with no one present, there is insufficient evident to charge him with a crime.

Aroldis Chapman’s girlfriend Cristina Barnea is an ex-escort. She became pregnant very soon after meeting him. Now, that sounds like a bad way to start a post. But, you really never know. It could be that the couple are madly in love and have a great thing going.

Anyway, Cristina loves to post pictures of their cute little baby girl, Angelina. They get to drive around in Aroldis’ Lamborghini and shop at very luxurious stores. Many of Cristina’s posts are in Spanish, as she is a Latina. The two often take fun trips on the water in their boat. It looks like a very charmed life, if you go by the pictures. Here’s to hoping these two are enjoying themselves and staying out of trouble.

Finding out who Anthony Rizzo was dating involved the all-important team & wives fashion show. These things are gold mines for figuring out who’s dating who, and that’s what we do. Anthony Rizzo’s girlfriend is a young, family-oriented girl. While I get that on first glance, let’s delve deeper. And in a moment of candor, we’ll admit off the bat that it does appear we’re operating on older information here, and that Mr. Rizzo & Ms. Smith have called things off.

So, Anthony Rizzo’s girlfriend Chelsea Smith is a recently graduate. Chelsea spends a lot of time with a few close friends and family. She recently took her first trip with a good friend of hers to Atlanta and posted the photo online, which is indicative of a kind of inexperience with travel. It’s also telling when she tags the photo with “shaky knees.” Anyway, there’s not much else to dig out of her photos since they’re all just her smiling, saying little in the description, and always being with either family or a close childhood friend. Not much to be found on that front, and Anthony has not posted one picture of her online. However…

But still, Rizzo’s girlfriend Chelsea did get the shoulder-tap for the a fashion show held by David DeJesus and his wife Kim DeJesus. That was a pretty clear sign from Mr. Rizzo that he’s taking the relationship to the next level. Because, only true girlfriends and wives take part in fashion shows. It would seem like a pretty significant step for the pair, if it wasn’t for the fact that they’ve probably split up. Honestly, that’s an interesting question. What happens when the team WAGs find out about a breakup? Do the guys know? When do they tell their wives? Do the players just not talk about it? Clubhouse, and family section dynamics are fascinating. Hell, I guess they can always just stay friends.

Ben Zobrist’s wife Julianna Zobrist sings and writes music in her spare time. That’s a difficult thing to do when you have three kids. Ben wrote her a post on his social media telling her how proud of her he is. It annoys me when people fail to use proper grammar in these posts. If I want to tell you what he said, I have to fix his grammar! Basically, he told her she follows God and creates the music she loves, and he wants to buy her something in New York City to celebrate. Hey, presents in New York City sound good!

Ben Zobrist’s wife Julianna Zobrist has been part of the fabric of his entire career. A renowned family man, Zobrist comes to bat to a song called “The Tree.” It’s a light Christian rock song that is sung by a lesser known artist by the name of… Julianna Zobrist. That’s right – Ben Zobrist’s wife serenades him to the plate 3-5 times a night. Cool way to keep what’s important in your mind.

The Zobrists thought it was the perfect plan. “As soon as she put the CD out, I knew it was something I wanted to do,” Ben said. Julianna didn’t mind the pub saying “I was so thrilled that he did(use the song). It’s hard to compete with all the great artists out there.”

I saw some older glamour shots of Ben Zobrist’s wife. She formerly had brown short hair, and now she has long platinum blonde. I’m fairly certain her music is Christian rock. She posted a picture of herself in a church doing an interview, and most everything she talks about features injections of Christian ideology. So if you dig Christian rock, check out Julianna Zobrist! For me, I prefer Satanic rock, personally. Sin and depravity are more attractive to me. I love how dedicated Julianna is to attending games at Wrigley. The couple own a $1.84 million home in Wrigleyville. I love that area of Chicago, so I enjoyed watching a video of them giving a tour.

Julianna gave Ben an amazing collage work of art for Father’s Day recently. It’s features photos artistically put together into a cool picture, and they are all culled from the past eight years of their lives. It really is a fantastic and thoughtful gift. Additionally, Julianna owns a baby grand piano that belonged to a couple who formerly lived in the area. The woman played the piano in the last years of her life, and Julianna appreciates the personal history of it. When he can, Ben plays basketball in a tiny cement back yard with his kids, and the space features a short rim you can dunk on.

There was a lot of talk about Ben Zobrist’s wife Julianna Zobrist during the 2015 World Series. Julianna was pregnant and due on November 10, just six days after a potential game 7 in Kansas City. At the time, Zobrist passed along the tentative plan to Fox’s Ken Rosenthal:

“If she goes into labor and I’m playing, she’s not going to tell me. Obviously if something happens, something dangerous, I’m gone—that’s the priority. She said if I’m playing and everything is fine, she’s probably not going to let me know until after the game.”

This isn’t the first player to be faced with a tough decision. Richard Sherman faced a similar conundrum headed into Super Bowl XLIX against the New England Patriots. Crisis averted when his girlfriend gave birth days later. It ended up not being a big deal for the Zobrist family either. Five days after the Royals won the World Series, the couple announced the birth of their third child. Julianna gave birth to girl whom they named, appropriately, Blaise Royal Zobrist.

I’ll be honest, we’re going to miss Jon Lester’s Wife Farrah Johnson Lester (formerly Farrah Stone Johnson).

Jon Lester and wife Farrah Lester became regulars in the Boston landscape, frequently involved in charitable endeavors, and hosting their own events for Jon’s NVRQT Foundation. Though, with the Lester clan being dealt to Oakland, we’ll miss the entire family as much as the playoff bulldog ace of the staff. Sox fans held out hope for Jon Lester’s return to Boston in free agency after the 2014. Hey, but did you guys hear that the Lester’s hadn’t turned off the cable to their Boston area house? There’s was a glimmer of hope yet…….

But, unfortunately for us, our return wish did not come true. Fortunately for the Lester family, after his half season in Oakland, they found a new permanent baseball home. It seems that Chicago has gotten one of the good guys in baseball, and the Lester’s are growing roots. Much like her time in Boston, Farrah has become a regular on the charity scene.

Jon and Farrah Lester married on January 09, 2009. Lester met his wife in Greenville, SC. The couple met while he was making minor league rehab starts following treatment for non-Hodgkins lymphoma. Jon and Farrah have two sons, Hudson Lester, who was born mid-2010, and Walker Lester, who was born on September 28, 2013. Walker Lester was born the night of a Friday afternoon game in which Lester pitched. But, the Sox dominated anyways in a 12-2 win.

Farrah enjoys deer hunting with Jon, who helped her shoot her first deer in late 2007. That certainly wasn’t her last though. Total package there. Speaking of the total package, her Twitter Bio pretty much sums that up

Farrah Lester remains constantly and consistently supportive of Jon. Most of her Tweets support him or the Cubs, though she finds a way to sprinkle in the occasional Boston love for Big Papi. Lester and the Cubs look to break a second franchise curse in 2016 and here’s to predicting that in advance.

Javier Baez’s girlfriend Irmarie Marquez is a die-hard fan of her husband’s team. Since she grew up with a Christian upbringing, she often cites God as the team’s protector. “With God on our side” is a phrase she uses in conjunction with her hopes for the Cubs winning. Irmarie, you realize this isn’t the Holy Crusades, right? Prior to the playoffs starting, Javier brought Irmarie to Wrigley for Family Day. Is Irmarie Marquez on the verge of becoming Javier Baez’s wife? Very possible. The couple does not have any children yet, but they have a lengthy history.

Since Irmarie is a die-hard fan, you will not find anything besides baseball on her social media. Javier Baez’s girlfriend posted a link to an article a magazine called Chicago Splash wrote about her and two other wives. I’ve read many of these kinds of articles. They generally take three baseball wives or girlfriends and talk about their daily lives. In this case, the article’s purpose was to “redefine” what it means to be a baseball wife. Being very familiar with what a player wife or girlfriend actually is, I can tell you it doesn’t redefine anything. It does, however, give a fair portrait of their lives. The article that featured Irmarie implied most wives and girlfriend of professional athletes are airheads. The author then presented Irmarie and some other Cubs wives as the opposite. What a hot take!

Javier Baez’s girlfriend Irmarie met him in middle school. They’re both in their mid twenties now. Irmarie cooks him rice, beans, and steak after most games. She’s one of the most supportive baseball girlfriends I’ve ever seen. Her whole life is based around supporting and nurturing Javier. In some respects, she is the absolute definition of the typical player wife because of this. She really helps Javier mentally and gives him strength. However, she seems like she has no life outside of this job of supporting him and cooking his meals. In this way, she is the archetype of the “traditional” player wife or girlfriend.

Theo Epstein’s wife Marie Whitney celebrated with her husband after the Cubs finished off the Dodgers on the way to the World Series. Theo Epstein and Marie Whitney, along with the entire city of Chicago, have a lot to celebrate. You see, the Cubs have been in something of a World Series drought. After winning back-to-back World Series championships in 1907 and 1908, the Cubs haven’t won one since. They made it to the World Series eight times since then, most recently in 1945, but they lost every time.

Theo Epstein married Marie Whitney on January 1, 2007, following a May 2006 engagement. True to his hometown roots, Theo dropped to one knee to propose to Marie at Davio’s in Boston’s Back Bay. In typically guarded Epstein fashion, he and Marie snuck off for their marriage and subsequent honeymoon. They successfully dodged paparazzi, bloggers and the frenzied Boston media alike. There are various reports on where the wedding took place. The most consistent report suggests an odd choice.

Marie is also from the Boston area. She reportedly cited strong childhood memories in choosing their wedding location. David’s Hot Dogs in New York City emerged from the rumor mill as the location of the wedding. Seriously. It was later revealed that this location was floated as a prank. In all fairness, Epstein fiercely guards his personal life. Remember the gorilla suit?

Theo Epstein’s wife Marie Whitney created a women’s clothing line called Two Penny Blue. Two Penny Blue is a fashion line that focuses a staple in any woman’s wardrobe, the blazer. An article described the clothing line as, “equestrian-meets-menswear-inspired”. Aside from being a successful business, Two Penny Blue is also a charitable business. For every jacket that the company sells, they donate a school uniform to a girl in need in Africa.

Theo Epstein’s wife Marie Whitney is also very involved with charities in her private life. She was a volunteer at Horizons for Homeless Children in Boston, which serves to help homeless children living in various shelters across the state. Marie also helps out with Theo’s wonderfully named charity, Foundation To Be Named Later.

The couple have two sons, Jack, born December 12, 2007 and Andrew. They also have two dogs named Baxter and Oliver.

Originally from Boston, Marie Whitney admits to missing many aspects of the city. She most misses,

the Cape and the Islands, the Public Gardens on a beautiful spring day when all the tulips are in bloom, going for a long run along the Esplanade on a crisp fall morning, and dinner in the North End just to name a few.

Much like our post after Francona left Boston, we must mention the impact Theo had on all of New England. Boston owes their 2004 World Series title to Theo, without a doubt. Trading Nomar was the right move, even if I hated him for it at the time. We’re probably still swirling in title-less turmoil without his impact.

Joe Maddon’s wife Jaye Sousoures Maddon feels very strongly about the wellbeing of their dogs. The couple had a house in California where their three dogs lived. When Joe was coaching the Rays, the couple decided to move to Florida. Jaye could not stomach the thought of moving her Great Dane (Athena) via plane. The Great Dane suffers from bloat and putting dogs in a cargo hold is generally pretty horrible. So their solution was to buy a recreational vehicle – a home on wheels.

Jaye tried for three months to get a company to rent her an RV for the California to Florida trip, but was unsuccessful. So, being the wife of a MLB manager, she just bought one. Jaye was accompanied on this cross country trek by her sons, 26-year old Ryan and 19-year old Dylan. Both sons are from her first marriage. Jaye also came up with the clever idea to use the RV trip as a way to raise money for Pet-Pal Animal Shelter. She hoped to have people donate a penny a mile, which would come out to about $30. She even blogged about the trip for MLB.

No word on whether the same method of transportation was used for the move to Chicago. It does appear however, that Athena has since passed – though we could not find confirmation of this. This left their English Bulldog, Winston Churchill Maddon, all alone. Alone that is, until Joe presented Jay with another dog as an early birthday present. Winston is now joined by Clementine Churchill Maddon.

Joe Maddon’s wife Jaye Sousoures Maddon continues a regrettable trend amongst WAGs. Their dog Winston has his own Twitter account (@winstoncmaddon). I’ll admit that it’s vaguely funny, the idea of a pet having a social media account. What I can’t understand is how an account like this gets more than a few cursory posts. I assume that boredom would set in pretty quickly. Maybe that’s just me. Seeing as the account has over one thousand posts, this clearly hasn’t happened.

Jaye and Joe met in California back in 1995 during their prior marriages. She worked as an accountant at an athletic club. Joe visited this club often when he was the Angels coach. He would leave her tickets to the games since she was, and remains, a huge baseball fan. Must be pretty cool to have a wife who actually digs baseball when you’re a baseball manager. Too bad Joe Maddon’s wife is an Angels fan and not a Cubs fan. The two teams don’t really even play each other, outside of the World Series.

The pair finally tied the knot in 2008. They have three separate homes in Pennsylvania, Tampa, and California. They likely have some sort of digs in Chicago now too. The California home is certainly not going anywhere since Jaye spends most of her time there teaching law at the University of Phoenix. It’s funny to say that though, since it’s an online college – she could do it from anywhere. Jaye actually earned her law degree pretty late in life, at the tender age of 45.

The couple also both like fast cars, according to the Tampa Tribune. They apparently have quite a lot in common, and their living arrangement seems to be working out for them quite well. They apparently don’t see a whole lot of each other since Jaye prefers to stay in California. Jaye’s best friend says of the couple: “I would say they are perfectly matched.”

Tom Ricketts’ wife Cecilia Ricketts lives in Wilmette, Illinois. She gave birth to a total of five kids in her stint as Wife In Chief of the Ricketts clan. There is no denying Cecilia was a Cubs fan before she even knew Tom. I know this because she met him in the bleachers of Wrigley Field! Tom actually lived across the street from Wrigley Field. In my opinion, this neighborhood is the best baseball neighborhood in all of baseball. Wrigley Field is a national treasure and a baseball mecca.

I believe Cecelia probably pushed Tom to buy the Cubs. That sounds crazy, but his official statement regarding the purchase is “my family and I are Cubs fans.” Of course, I may simply be reading too much into their initial meeting. I also almost neglected to mention that Cecilia is a doctor! She is a dermatologist with more than twenty years of practice. The Ricketts gained attention locally because they are building an $11 million mansion on a lakefront property in Wilmette, Illinois. The property lies on the coast of Lake Michigan. In case you are wondering, Wilmette is a rich town and is ranked way up there in places to raise children. The family actually had to completely demolish the home that used to sit there. Sayonara, old home!

In case you are wondering, these people have a dream life. Yes, they work hard, but let me put it to you this way: Tom’s answer in a college questionnaire to what his job would be was “Cubs owner.” That’s what I call hitting the mark! As for Tom Ricketts’ wife, think about it: she never needed him financially. Dermatologists make a fortune. She would have been living in a mansion now without the guy. Every time I learn about baseball owners and managers, I’m impressed by how successful they are. I guess that’s why they’re owners?

Jake Arrieta’s wife Brittany Arrieta recently did something that she has never done before. She took their two children trick-or-treating… in a hotel. The Chicago Cubs are on the road, looking to climb back into the World Series. So naturally, the team is staying in a hotel. Brittany refused to let that ruin Halloween for the kids. Their son Cooper dressed as Spiderman, while their daughter Palmer dressed as a princess.

Jake Arrieta’s wife Brittany Arrieta was an elite gymnast in Texas. She uses that to relate to Jake in the best way possible. As a sign of appreciation for everything she’s been through in his career, Jake responds by having taken Brittany to every Twilight midnight opening in the movie franchise. Jake also has a ‘B’ tattooed on his ring finger for his high school sweetheart. The couple has two children. A son named Cooper and a daughter named Palmer.

Brittany Arrieta knew this was coming. After middling seasons in Baltimore, Jake Arrieta has transformed himself into the ace of his Cubs squad. Which says a lot, considering Jon Lester is also on the team. Jake also beat out Zack Greinke and Clayton Kershaw for NL Cy Young.

In an article with the Baltimore Sun, Jake Arrieta’s wife Brittany Arrieta explained Jake by saying, “You can’t explain him. He is his own breed of person”. The hyper competitive Jake has few people in the world who know him as well as Brittany, when you consider that they met in elementary school and began dating as juniors in high school. After attending TCU together, the two embarked on the grueling minor league road together, and came out all the better.

Cooper Arrieta made the viral rounds recently. The youngster was caught pouring champagne into his fathers mouth following his 11k shutout in the 2015 NL Wild Card game. Cool family across the board.

Addison Russell’s girlfriend Melissa Reidy is most definitely a very young and very pregnant lady. She posted a picture of some kind of “pregnancy assistance app” which describes how her third trimester will be and also says her baby is now the size of a “canary melon”. I, like you, have no idea what a canary melon is. But this seems pretty legit because Melissa mentions her pregnancy multiple times and seems to be waiting for her baby who she’s already named Aidan Kai. She’s also posted pictures of herself (in which she is fully pregnant). Baking buns is what she does. These guys are all about preparation!

Addison Russell’s girlfriend Melissa Reidy is apparently also his fiance. Although Addison is the second youngest player in the National League, that’s not stopping him from tying the knot. Hell, while he’s at it, no slowing down to jump head first into fatherhood. Hey, the guy’s got his future in full sight. That future also, of course, includes kicking some butt in baseball. That makes everything about raising a family easier. Right now, Addison and Melissa do normal couple stuff like go to see “Minions” and fly around to different cities for various baseball-related reasons.

Melissa is also fairly religious, praising God now and again online and letting everyone bask in her pious glow. Melissa also has a little Schnauzer-looking dog named Jay. Jay is surely taking a backseat once Aidan Kai arrives in her life. I always have this weird sadness when I see pictures of the girlfriend with the dog when she’s pregnant– as if I mourn the death of the girlfriend/dog relationship with the coming of the girlfriend/son relationship. Of course, there is no death of the girlfriend/dog relationship here; it’s just a subtle downgrading of attention. Guys, I’m looking out for Melissa’s dog Jay here; I got his back.

Wilson Contreras’ girlfriend Astrid Ochoa is a Venezuelan. She keeps him focused on baseball. That’s what he said in an interview, anyway. It’s rare that a baseball girlfriend doesn’t keep their significant other focused on baseball. I’ve never heard of a baseball girlfriend that is a truly bad influence. However, she’d be interesting to read about. Astrid posted some pictures of celebrations after the World Series on her social media. Astrid rode on the Chicago Cubs parade float with Wilson. Of course, that was a great thrill for both of them.

Astrid is also friends with many Chicago Cubs wives and girlfriends. The Cubs Wives probably became much closer this playoffs season because of the struggle to achieve a championship. It’s nerve-wracking! Wilson Contreras’ girlfriend Astrid also attended many games with Wilson’s parents. She calls them her “segundos padres.” That means “second parents,” so it appears everyone gets along in the family. When she lived in Venezuela, her real parents owned a cat she called Garfield because of his resemblance to the cartoon cat.

A few noteworthy items about Astrid: she loves Starbucks coffee, she’s into religion, and she likes going to Wrigley. These are all standard pro athlete girlfriend interests, as we’ve witnessed over the years. You will fit in easily with many, many player wives if these are your interests. Wilson Contreras’ girlfriend has an easygoing temperament. She wears a soft smile in all of her pictures, and she is thankful for the life she now leads. Earlier in the year, Wilson and Astrid visited Millenium Park in Chicago to take in some photo opportunities. Certainly, this included a picture in front of Cloud Gate. A few years back, they took a much more exotic trip to some beautiful beaches in Venezuela. Trips home are good for the soul, and so is the food!

About a year ago, we told you about a girl named Chelsea Smith that Anthony dated for a while. Well, you can forget all that. Anthony Rizzo’s girlfriend Emily Vakos is the new deal, and he takes her to exotic tropical locations to prove it. The guy is a stud who played an integral role in the Cubs’ World Series title. So if he offers you a round trip ticket to Thailand, you better accept! It’s compulsory travel companionship because no woman can resist the Thailand/Rizzo combo. They spent Thanksgiving there.

Before they left for the big vacation, Anthony Rizzo’s girlfriend posed with him in Central Park. They smiled gleefully and soaked up the autumn foliage. In fact, life with Anthony so far includes private jet rides. Since he appeared on Jimmy Fallon, both he and Emily used one to get back to Chicago after the show. Life with Anthony is heaven for Emily because he takes her to fancy restaurants in Chicago too. Take me to a fancy restaurant, Anthony! I’m a straight white male but I enjoy semi-vacuous conversation with professional big-leaguers, and I especially enjoy high cuisine. Or you can offer me a date with Emily at the same restaurant and pay for it. Either is fine.

The couple also attends all kinds of concerts. Of course, they are huge fans of Coldplay, and they saw them in Chicago in July. A lot of people hate on Coldplay, but I bet their concerts are decent. When you can entertain 20,000 people with life-affirming vanilla songs, you can start hating on them. Until then, Anthony Rizzo’s girlfriend Emily is consistently impressed by them. Right after the Coldplay concert, they attended Lollapalooza in Millennium Park. If you asked me whether this couple was a Pitchfork Festival couple or a Lollapalooza couple, ten times out of ten I answer: the latter.

Jose Quintana’s wife Michel Quintana gave birth to their daughter in 2016. They named her Ariadna, and I like the name because it has a Latin flare. Michel herself is now studying to earn her degree in psychology. When 2017 rolled around, the couple posed for a photo with Ariadna and wished everyone a happy year. They did the same at Christmas, and both pictures came from their home. It appears they live in a condominium in Chicago. The place looks like a lobby because there is no wood. It’s all tiles. Hey, not everybody likes wooden floors!

They actually christened their daughter about a week before Christmas. The ceremony also took place in Chicago. December 2016 was busy for them because they also attended a friend’s wedding. Jose Quintana’s wife looks amazing in long dresses, and she wore plenty of them that month. They traveled to warmer climates in October with Ariadna and enjoyed some beach time. When they hang out in Chicago, they sometimes take the boat around the lake. On one such occasion, Jose took a picture with Michel and took the opportunity to tell her she loves her he looks forward to many more weekends filled with love and friendship. Quality husband points scored!

2016 was the first year they spent married, and Jose thanked God he met Michel in a dedication in August. He told her he feels thankful for giving them so many blessings. In fact, Jose Quintana’s wife must feel lucky to have a dude who lets her know how he feels about her so often! His social media is filled with dedications and little notes to her. It appears he puts up a picture of them together once every couple months. He clearly loves Michel very much, and they appear to be very happy with their new life as parents.

The last time we checked in about Kris Bryant’s wife Jessica Bryant, they verged on a proposal. Now, the couple finally tied the knot in January of 2017. Apparently the bridal shower occurred at Wrigley Field, as we mentioned in an update in September of 2016. So let’s talk a bit more about what they do together now that they’re man and wife. First, we ought to mention Jessica celebrated her 25th birthday in March, just two months after the wedding. Kris told her he’s so grateful for every day he gets to spend with her. He included a wedding picture in the tribute.

This couple started dating in high school while they both lived in Las Vegas. They continued for eight years until Kris popped the question. Kris Bryant’s wife visited DisneyWorld with Kris in September and called them both kids at heart. The picture was very cute. It looked like she had a videographer follow her around and wait until the cutest moment possible to take a candid of them together. By her accounts, she loves Chicago and loves to live there. This is now the third year for them in Chicago. She explored the city with some visiting friends in June and called the city beautiful.

Since the Cubs spend spring training in Arizona, Kris Bryant’s wife is in heaven in March. She expressed her appreciation for the area and called herself a desert rat. Jessica says she’d be lying if she said Arizona didn’t feel like home. Jessica also shared her love of baking things for Kris about a month after her marriage. She called the time that followed the vows incredible. Naturally, kids will follow soon. There’s no official word from the couple but mark my words. They got together in high school and got married in their mid twenties. You’ll see a crib in their Chicago pad real soon!

Albert Almora’s wife Krystal Almora gave birth to their first son, AJ, in August of 2016. He celebrated his first birthday in 2017 with a cake and balloons. He tore the cake apart, of course. That’s what one year-olds do with cakes. I’m not sure if they made the cake for him or for the photo opportunity. I did spy a destroyed pile of crumbs in his birthday picture. Anyway, those pictures are more for the parents and relatives than anything else. Since Albert obviously adores his son, he posts about him quite often. He’s very enthusiastic about being a dad. However, after he married Krystal in July of 2016, the Cubs sent him to Triple A! He quickly worked his way back up afterward, though.

I should first tell you- Krystal formerly danced professionally in the NBA and NHL. For Halloween, Albert Almora’s wife wore a catwoman mask while Albert wore a batman mask. That’s more my speed when it comes to Halloween. Just throw on a mask. They popped AJ into some kind of animal outfit, and he did not seem pleased about it. In January of 2017, Albert also posted a happy birthday message to Krystal. He basically just wished her a nice day but then tagged the picture “milf” at the end. Funny stuff. The couple showed up in the spring edition of Paws Magazine. The magazine put them on the cover and called them champions for homeless pets. I always appreciate this out of sports couples. Compassion for animals!

The family own an adopted Shiba Inu named Luna. They formerly owned an adopted Bulldog named Dro. They partnered with the Paws Magazine in Chicago to sponsor an intentional walk for homeless pets. Albert Almora’s wife expressed her sadness about the passing of their Bulldog and feels strongly about helping shelter animals. She said it makes her happy to know she can make a difference in saving an animal’s life by raising awareness for pet adoption.

Jon Lester’s wife Farrah Lester became a regular in the Boston landscape, frequently involved in charitable endeavors, and hosting their own events for Jon’s NVRQT Foundation. Though, with the Lester clan being dealt to Oakland, we’ll miss the entire family as much as the playoff bulldog ace of the staff. Sox fans held out hope for Jon Lester’s return to Boston in free agency after the 2014. Hey, but did you guys hear that the Lester’s hadn’t turned off the cable to their Boston area house? There’s was a glimmer of hope yet…….
